nd –Rushing from day to day. Cleaned out the barn ready for this month's delivery of haylage, straw and hay for the horses that find the haylage too rich. Thankfully it was stacked better this time, as we had 6x-8ft haylage bales trapped with 4x-10ft straw bales. Not much fun trying to move tonnes of forage by hand! Timed it just right, by the time we filled all the racks and 3 days worth of nets and given extra deep beds it saved having to rotate all the bales so was so much easier to clean out delivery. So hard work, but a good day.

rd---After the mega clean yesterday decided to do a spring clean in feed room and rug boxes. Must be this good weather putting a zest for cleaning up!

th--- Stallions and show stock coming on nicely. 2 of the yearlings have had a growth spurt and gone gangly so won't be showing them until they have caught up with themselves. Stallions a lot fitter up to 30 minutes hard work without breaking a sweat. Will have to rethink their feed as the spring grass is up.

th---One of our 3 year old fillies goes to her new home today. Would have put her to one of our stallions this year if she had not been sold.

th---- Can tell the show season is on its way as had 4 calls/emails over the last few days looking for show/breeding stock.

th---Weather turned again, very wet and cold, so decided to jet wash and disinfect 3 of the empty stables.

th--- A Mum and daughter visited today, looking for a gelding. Mum liked solid colour daughter liked piebald. Gone to have a think, as both are suitable for them.

th---Ordered the post and rail fencing so can split down the larger paddocks and whitewashed the top half of the stables. Looks better already.

th---Started to fill the passport applications in and take some pics of the horses for IMHPS registrar. Painted the bottom half of the stables, only had to put one coat of black on, so didn't take as long as anticipated.

th---The Mum and daughter who came the other day rang to say they still couldn't decide which to have so would like both. Be nice as the boys are good friends and been together for the last 8 months.

Moved the stallions bedding into the new painted stables so only have our `ladies in waiting` in the main yard.

th Sent all the passports off to IMHPS. Visit from the farrier so another busy day. Boys had a good night, settled into their new room ok. Perhaps as they didn't smell of anyone else and they took their `sheets` with them? Forecast nice weather the next few days so will crack on and get the rest started on so.

th Post and rails delivered today. Painting all done in the stables so put the cameras and heat lamps up ready for the first full clips as we leave heads and legs on so it is not so much of a shock for them and if we do have a very cold snap can pop the lamps on to keep them snug. Will leave lamps up for the brood mares.

th---Early start to get stable partitions up. Seems a mad rush to get everything done before the show/breeding season starts at the end of the month.

th---Decided to get the schedules together to sort out who, what, when and where. Took ages to decide so only worked out the first few and those that need sending off with early deadline.

st---Started to fertilise the nursery paddocks and sprayed weeds, as everything seems to be springing up with this warm patch.

nd---Car in for its MOT and service to cope with the motorway miles. Renewed the breakdown cover too.

rd---Young lady came to look at one of the boys, seemed to like him will ring back if interested. Started the fencing a hard slog for girls with a post rammer as cant get anyone else to do it at the moment unless you are prepared to pay silly money.

th---- After fencing for the last few days it's a relief to have a break. Have a hubby and wife coming to look at some of the broodmares.

th---My son passed his driving test so no more having to take him to and from work and being a weekend taxi service! Took the show jackets into be cleaned. Measured up for new seasons halters and rugs.

th---Passports back from IMHPS, that was quick. Received a deposit for the colt and the mare that was viewed this last week.

st---End of the month thank goodness! It has been manic but achieved no end—who am I kidding we have barely made a dent in the work that needs doing. Horses –it never seems to end!
